Tight security at Tirumala

By Our Staff Reporter

TIRUMALA DEC. 3. Unprecedented security arrangements are being made at the hill temple of Lord Venkateswara, Tirumala, in view of December. 6.

Special protection forces are to be deployed on all the four sides of the temple complex. Except for the `on-duty' temple staff, none including the TTD employees of other departments shall be allowed to enter into the temple from `mahadwaram.'

The VIP `break-darshan' on December 6 evening has been done away with apart from cancelling the `anga pradakshinam' the same morning.

Friskings and checkings shall be intensified at the Alipiri tollgate, situated at the foot of the Tirumala Hills as well as at the GNC and `papavinasam' tollgates atop Tirumala. Unmindful of the magnitude of the crowd and the resultant loss of time to go into the exercise, every devotee entering the temple will be invariably thoroughly frisked. Their baggages will be scanned.
