ACC cement despatches up

MUMBAI DEC. 3. ACC has recorded a 4.49 per cent rise in its cement despatches at 10.69 lakh tonnes for November 2002 against 10.23 lakh tonnes in the same month last fiscal.

Cement production, however, was flat at 10.65 lakh tonnes last month, a company release said here today. Cumulative despatches and production for April-November stood at 90.82 lakh tonnes (78.99 lakh tonnes in April-November 2001) and 91.14 lakh tonnes (79.22 lakh tonnes) respectively.

Meanwhile, Larsen and Toubro in a statement said its cement despatches (including exports) and production for November 2002 stood at 9.5 lakh tonnes (8.2 lakh tonnes) and 9.3 lakh tonnes (8.1 lakh tonnes) respectively.
