Jagir Kaur gets bail

Kapurthala Nov. 15. A local court today granted anticipatory bail to the former Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) president, Bibi Jagir Kaur, on furnishing a bail bond of Rs. 30,000 and a surety of an equal amount to the satisfaction of the police. She was granted bail by the additional district and sessions judge, Zora Singh, in a power theft case registered against her by the Kapurthala police on the complaint of the Punjab State Electricity Board (PSEB) officials on November 7.

She was also directed to surrender her passport and not to leave the country without the permission of court.

Bibi Jagir Kaur has already been granted interim stay on her arrest by the Punjab and Haryana High court till November 17.
