Murder sparks tension at Pulianthope

By Our Staff Reporter

CHENNAI NOV.13. Tension gripped parts of Pulianthope today following the murder of a Reserve Bank employee by a five-member gang at Kannigapuram.

Karnan (42), an attendant in RBI, was stabbed to death by assailants who fled the scene.

As news spread about the murder, family members of the victim rushed to the spot. The victim was taken to the Government General Hospital where he was declared dead.

The family members charged that the assailants, who had recently come out of prison had been following the victim and also threatened him. Despite repeated complaints to the police no action was taken to apprehend the culprits and this led to the murder.

The Pulianthope police have formed a special team to trace the culprits.
