The House of People was informed by the Education Minister that excavations made in the northern Bikaner in Rajasthan had unearthed evidence of very old cities, "belonging to the same age as Harappa and Mohenjodaro (since gone to Pakistan). Another 15 revealed a characteristic `painted grey pottery' known in sites in East Punjab and the Upper Gangetic Valley.
