'Deterioration in Maran's condition'

CHENNAI
OCT. 20.
There has been deterioration in the condition of the Union Commerce and Industries Minister, Murasoli Maran, the Apollo Hospitals said in a medical bulletin this evening.
"Mr. Maran continues to be critical in the intensive care unit. The new imported medicine that he was started on two days ago has had to be withdrawn. There has been deterioration in his condition, and he continues to be on the ventilatory support and renal dialysis," the bulletin said.
Following the visit of the Union Health Minister, Shatrugan Sinha, on Saturday, a respiratory and chest diseases specialist from the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, was flown in for consultations tonight.
