Andhra Pradesh-Hyderabad
By Our Staff Reporter
The move is as per the directions of the Government and as agreed to by the Association of Owners of Private Pollution Testing Stations, he said, requesting the public to get their vehicles checked at upgraded pollution testing stations and obtain the certificates from there only. The main features of the upgraded stations is that there will be no human interface in the pollution check process. The photograph of the rear of the vehicle displaying the number plate will be printed on the certificate along with the date and time of check. If the vehicle fails in the check, a rejection memo is generated in the system automatically. Mr. Gandhi said transparency in activity was an answer to the criticism that the certificates were being issued without actual check or even when the vehicle failed in the check. He said that as of now 35 stations had been upgraded and licensed by the Road Transport Authority to issue computerised certificates. Centralised distribution of stationery for issue of certificate with tamper-proof hologram was also being undertaken to regulate and monitor supply of certificates, he said.
