Trishul test-fired

Balasore (Orissa) Sept. 24. The country's most sophisticated short range supersonic surface-to-air missile, Trishul, with a range of nine kilometres was successfully test-fired from the Interim Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur-on-sea, about 15 km from here, today.

Launched from a mobile platform at about 4:25 p.m., the solid fuel propelled Trishul, which can carry a 15 kg warhead, hit a moving target, an unmanned micro-light aircraft, as scheduled, ITR sources said.
