President's honour for AAI's first woman police officer

NEW DELHI SEPT.13. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) presented the prestigious Police Medal for Distinguished Services to one of the country's senior woman police officers from Karnataka, Jija Madhavan Singh, who has risen to the level of Additional Director-General of Police.

Ms. Jija Madhavan Singh is posted as Chief Vigilance Officer and Advisor (Security) with the AAI.

The President, A.P.J. Kalam, here on Wednesday, earlier awarded the medal, presented by the AAI chairman, S.K. Narula, to her on the eve of the Republic Day.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Narula said Ms. Madhavan Singh has conducted 141 vigilance awareness programmes at various airports to sensitise officers to the consequences of corruption and to promote the culture of integrity and excellence.
