By J. Venkatesan

Referring to the recent reports of a ritual in a temple near Madurai where children were drugged and buried for a minute, the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Ms. Jayalalithaa, said at a press conference here today that it was confined to one temple in one village and the ritual was practised once in seven years.

After it was brought to her notice, the Government had decided to ban such a practice, she said and added that she would be accepting the resignation of C. Durairaj, Tamil Nadu Minister, who was present at the ritual.
