Appointed CBI special Director

NEW DELHI
Aug. 28.
U.S. Mishra, a senior IPS officer from Orissa cadre, has been appointed Special Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The post of Special Director had been lying vacant in the CBI for almost an year.
With Mr. Mishra's induction in the CBI, the agency will have almost all senior slots filled up to the level of joint directors. The CBI has Vijay Shankar, as the Additional Director. Recently, five joint directors have also joined the CBI, filling up the vacant slots.
Mr. Mishra's appointment was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) after his name was cleared by the CVC selection board, consisting of the appointed CBI Central Vigilance Commissioner, CBI Director, Home Secretary and Secretary (Personnel).
