HYDERABAD Aug. 23. The LCA project director, Kota Harinarayana, has been appointed Vice-Chancellor of University of Hyderabad by the President of India.

A Padmashree awardee, Dr. Harinarayana is an aeronautical engineer who has given an impetus to the programme for development of the light combat aircraft by the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA).

He succeeeds another eminent scientist, P. Rama Rao, who retired on June 30 on attaining the age of superannuation.
