Chitra bags gold

NEW DELHI AUG. 22. Chitra K. won a gold as India collected three medals on the opening day of the three-day Asian age-group aquatic championship at Zhuhai, in China, on Thursday.

According to information available with chief coach Mr. K. V. Sharma here, Chitra claimed the women's 400-metre freestyle title.

Bronze medals came from Amar Muralidharan in the men's 400m freestyle and Madhura Patil in the 50m breaststroke in girls Group I. However, the timings were not available. _ Our Special Correspondent.
