Mathur takes over as LIC Chairman

MUMBAI AUG. 16. S. B. Mathur today took over as full time chairman of Life Insurance Corporation of India. Prior to being elevated to this position, Mr. Mathur was working as executive director in-charge of marketing and international operations of the company. The tenure of Mr. Mathur's appointment is till October 31, 2004.

The previous chairman, G. N. Bajpai, had demitted office in February this year, after he was appointed chairman of SEBI.
