Letters to the Editor
Sir, The whole country should condemn, irrespective of religion, what happened in Jammu last Saturday. One was surprised to see L.K. Advani there immediately after the killings. But where was he when such killings took place in Gujarat? Nobody knows who is involved in Jammu. Pakistan is the suspect. But, when the killings were on in Gujarat, where were the Central leaders hiding? The policies of the Government are questionable. They bombarded the border with soldiers after the Kaluchak attack and held out threats of war. They burdened the country's economy by sending the Army to the border, but took no stern action in Gujarat. Our country is facing a double threat: One from Pakistan-supported terrorism and terrorism which is creeping from within State terrorism. The latter is more disastrous. Gaurav Dimri, New Delhi
