Three new airports coming up in N-E

GUWAHATI July 12. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) will spend Rs. 310 crores during the Tenth Plan period for extending runways to enable landing of bigger aircraft, building larger terminal buildings and providing better passenger facilities in the 11 airports in the northeast, said Srikrishan, Regional Executive Director of the AAI, at a press conference here on Wednesday.

Three new airports are coming up: at Tura in Meghalaya, Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh and Pekyong in Sikkim,he said.
