Letters to the Editor
Sir, Your Editorial `Goodwill at any cost' (July 11) is indeed a timely reminder to the Centre that it lacks the political will to take the logical next steps after banning the LTTE. The point made by you that double standards cannot apply when it comes to dealing with acts of terrorism cannot be disputed. If the Government adopts a soft approach in respect of Vaiko who showered praises on the LTTE, it would tantamount to legitimising all his activities in this regard beginning with his clandestine trip to Colombo in 1989. The Government has a duty to get Prabakaran extradited. If this is not done, our country will be a perpetual sufferer at the hands of the terrorists.
S. Srinivasan,
