Hancock medal for rubber technologist

CHENNAI: Renowned rubber technologist S. V. Lathia has been awarded with Hancock Medal for 2002 by the Institute of Materials, London, in recognition of his 50 years of outstanding contribution to the rubber industry in India and abroad. Mr. Lathia took up the valuable cause of import substitution and with his strong technical background he was able to develop several vital products that saved foreign exchange worth millions of rupees for India.
