By Our Special Correspondent

BANGALORE JULY 11. Replying to a question from S. Suresh Kumar (BJP) in the Legislative Assembly on Thursday, the Minister for Animal Husbandry, M. Mahadev, promised to examine a suggestion for banning entry of milk into Bangalore from Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. Mr. Kumar alleged that adulterated milk in tins was being brought into Bangalore from Erode, and it was being used in hotels. In his reply, Mr. Mahadev said that according to an estimate, about five lakh litres of milk was coming into the State, including 1.40 lakh litres into Bangalore.<122> The milk samples were being checked for quality. Although there was no provision to bar inter-State transportation of milk, the health officers were examining how entry of adulterated milk could be prevented, he added.
