Vidhana Soudha to be fenced soon

By Our Staff Reporter

BANGALORE June 24. The Vidhana Soudha and the High Court will soon be fenced, as part of the effort to step up security for the buildings, the Commissioner of Police, H.T. Sangliana, has said.

Mr. Sangliana told presspersons here on Monday that the Bangalore City police had submitted to the Government a report on the security cover for the Vidhana Soudha and other buildings in the vicinity. Security measures had been initiated following the attack on the Parliament building by terrorists, he said.

Mr. Sangliana said the proposal for fencing the Vidhana Soudha and the High Court was being examined by the Secretary of the Public Works Department (PWD). The financial details were being worked out, and the report had been accepted by the Government, he added.

Cases against Rai

Mr. Sangliana said chargesheets had been filed in cases registered against Muthappa Rai in several City courts. Investigations were being carried out in respect of other cases. Rai was in judicial custody, he added.
