Double delight for Preetham

CHENNAI JUNE 23. Preetham Dev Moses won both the races in Group `B' four-stroke 150cc and Group `C' two-stroke 150cc categories in the opening round of the TVS National road-racing championship 2002 for motorbikes at the MMSC race track on Sunday.

Actually, Sriskandarajah had finished the opening race of the Group `C' two-stroke 150cc event ahead of Preetham, but was relegated to the second spot by the race officials owing to his unsportsmanlike display on the track.

The results: Group D 4-stroke 110cc (7 laps): Race I: 1. T.K. Vishwanath, 2. Emmanuel Clarke, 3. Karthick. Race II: 1. T.K. Vishwanath, 2. Emmanuel Clarke, 3. Karthick.

TVS race-a-bike (Victor, 5 laps): Race I: 1. Joy Edwards, 2. A.K. Shankar, 3. Karan Bir Bedi. Race II: 1. Joy Edwards, 2. A.K. Shankar, 3. Suneel.

Group B 4-stroke 110cc (7 laps): Race I: 1. Sriskandarajah, 2. Preetham Dev Moses, 3. Emmanuel Clarke. Race II: 1. Emmanuel Clarke, 2. Preetham Dev Moses, 3. Sriskandarajah.

Group D 2-stroke 150cc (7 laps): Race I: 1. I. Satish, 2. Arun Kumar, 3. Emmanuel Gnanaraj. Race II: 1. Emmanuel Gnanaraj, 2. I. Satish, 3. Arun Kumar.

Group B 4-stroke 150cc (7 laps): Race I: 1. Preetham Dev Moses, 2. T.K. Vishwanath, 3. Sriskandarajah. Race II: 1. Preetham Dev Moses, 2. Sriskandarajah, 3. Rajesh Reddy.

TVS race-a-bike (Fiero, 5 laps): Race I: 1. Pramod, 2. Suneel, 3. Gopinath. Race II: 1. Pramod, 2. Gopinath, 3. Suneel.

Group C 2-stroke 150cc (7 laps): Race I: 1. Preetham Dev Moses, 2. Sriskandarajah, 3. T.K. Vishwanath. Race II: 1. Preetham Dev Moses, 2. T.K. Vishwanath, 3. Sriskandarajah.

Group D 4-stroke: 150cc (7 laps): Race I: 1. Emmanuel Clarke, 2. Rajesh Reddy, 3. Emmanuel Jebraj. Race II: 1. T.K. Vishwanath, 2. Emmanuel Jebraj, 3. Rajesh Reddy.
