Naidu for consensus

HYDERABAD June 9. The Telugu Desam Party is in favour of a consensus on the choice of candidate for the Presidential election. The Chief Minister and party president, N.Chandrababu Naidu, spoke to the Prime Minister, A.B.Vajpayee, on Sunday evening where he is understood to have made it clear that "under the present circumstances" all efforts should be made to evolve a consensus on the issue.

Mr.Vajpayee should take all parties with him and come out with a choice acceptable to most.
