U.S. upsets Portugal

SUWON (SOUTH KOREA) JUNE 5 The United States savoured its greatest victory in the World Cup era of football with a stunning 3-2 upset of highly-rated Portugal in the Group D match here today.

It was a classic smash-and-grab raid as the U.S.sprinted to a 3-0 lead in 36 minutes and then withstood a stirring Portuguese second-half resurgence.
