Red alert sounded all over State

BANGALORE MAY 29. The Director-General and Inspector-General of Police, V.V. Bhaskar, has sounded a red alert all over the State following serial blasts in Ahmedabad on Wednesday. Mr. Bhaskar told presspersons here on Wednesday that he had sent messages to the superintendents of police of all districts, the commissioners of police of Bangalore, Hubli-Dharwad, and Mysore, and all the IGPs in charge of the ranges, to direct their staff to be on high alert. Meanwhile, the Bangalore City Police Commissioner, H.T. Sangliana, said he had directed his officers to check all buses for suspicious characters, and frisk them and their luggage.
