India welcomes U.S.-Russia treaty

NEW DELHI MAY 25. India today congratulated the Russian President, Vladimir Putin and the United States President, George Bush, for concluding the Strategic Offensive Reduction Treaty and the declaration on new strategic relations between Moscow and Washington.

An External Affairs Ministry statement said India hoped that the new strategic relationship between Russia and the U.S. would pave the way for creating enduring structures of cooperative international security and global strategic stability. India, also welcomed the emphasis made by the two leaders on fighting international terrorism.
