Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), is currently considering four petrol bunks in the City for dispensing LPG auto fuel and also to install `LPG conversion kits', according to S. V. Sahni, General Manager and Head, LPG, HPCL. Addressing a press conference after launching the `HP Gas' brand initiative of the company here on Thursday, he said the petrol bunks being considered are: Margadarsi (Secunderabad), Nataraj (Attapur), Raj Kamal (Bahadurpura) and Mahalakshmi (near Secretariat). The conversion kits could cost up to Rs. 22,000 for four-wheelers and Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 18,000 for three-wheelers. The company has already set up seven auto LPG stations in Mumbai and two in Delhi, and is in the process of setting up 30 more stations this financial year. It is also facilitating conversion of vehicles at its outlets in Mumbai through an approved agency. Those who call up HP Gas dealers for refills and complaints etc., will soon be greeted with an `Avunu andi', just as counterparts in the North will be greeeted with a `Jee haan'. This forms part of HPCL's new range of personalised initiatives to consolidate and build a stronger alliance with its consumers in the LPG business, said Mr. Sahni. Value added service offerings now include installation of new connections within 24 hours, also delivery of refills within 24 hours, gradual extension of the four-digit single number `1716' across the country for enquiries and emergencies. Mr. Sahni said with the release of 2.3-crore new connections nationwide in the last two years, the entire waitlist was eliminated and connections were now being released across the counter. It was also, not compulsory for new customers to buy a stove from the same dealer, he clarified. The company also hopes to market a 5-k.g. LPG cylinder for rural markets, and is awaiting the Government clearance on price structure etc, he said.
