Ramjanmabhoomi Nyas trustee seeks dissolution

New Delhi May 11. Mahant Baba Dharam Das, the main trustee of the Ramjanmabhoomi Nyas, today accused Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leaders of misappropriating the funds of the trust and demanded its dissolution.

At a press conference here, the Mahant also proposed the formation of a non-political front comprising the representatives of Hindus and Muslims to work out a peaceful solution to the Ayodhya issue.

He said he would donate a 10-acre land for the construction of a mosque at an alternative site in Ayodhya.

He said the VHP leaders, Ashok Singhal and V.H. Dalmia, had only made money out of the Ramjanmabhoomi movement and they were not serious about the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Baba Dharam Das, who had earlier criticised the shiladaan programme of the VHP on March 15, also hit out at the Nyas convener, Mahant Ramchandradas Paramhans, for siphoning off money from the trust funds. He even described him as an old ``history-sheeter''.

He said the VHP leaders had taken out from the trust fund, Rs. 2 crores for the March 15 programme in Ayodhya but no one knew where they spent the amount.
