Probe ordered into suicide at police station

KARIMNAGAR APRIL 12. The Medak district Collector, L Premchandra Reddy, has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the suicide of Pandi Yadagiri, a resident of Venkatraopet village of Thoguta police station limits, at the Thoguta police station.

The Medak Collector told The Hindu on Friday that the State Government had announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh to the bereaved family members of the victim. He also said that the district administration had sanctioned a house under the IAY scheme and old age pension to the father of the deceased.

According to the Medak Additional SP (operations), Charu Sinha, the six policemen, including Circle Inspector, P Madhukar Swamy, and the SI, Md Kareemullah, who were arrested on Thursday, were remanded to 14 days' judicial custody.
