Major reshuffle of Uttaranchal officials

DEHRA DUN APRIL 8. S. Krishnan will be Uttaranchal Chief Minister, N. D. Tiwari's new Principal Secretary in place of Subhash Kumar.

Mr Krishnan was till now the Principal Secretary, Secretariat Administration and Industrial Development.

Mr Kumar will now be Commissioner, Garhwal, a post he was handling along with his charge as secretary to the Chief Minister.

The post of secretary has now been upgraded to principal secretary.

Brijendra Paul, till now the Secretary, Urban Development, will now be Secretary, PWD. Mr N. S. Napalchayal, till now, secretary, PWD has been given the charge of transport and technical education.

P. C. Sharma has been made Secretary, Secretariat Administration and State property.

According to official sources, P. K. Mohanty, who has just been posted to Doon, has been made Secretary, Urban Development. Utpal Kumar Singh, till now the DM of Nainital, will be the Managing Director, Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam whereas Amit Ghosh will be the new DM of Nainital. He was, till now, the DM of Almora.

Umakant Panwar, earlier the MD of Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam, will be the new DM of Tehri.

He will replace Mrs Radha Raturi who has been given the charge of additional secretary, irrigation and Tehri Dam project.

Chanar Ram, till now the Secretary and additional commissioner, food and civil supplies, has been the new DM of Almora.

S. S. Sandhu will be the new Vice-Chairman of Mussoorie- Dehradun development authority. Kunwar Rajkumar, who held this post till now, will now be the Secretary and additional commissioner, Food and Civil Supplies. --UNI
