Man stabbed in Byatarayanapura

By Our Staff Reporter

BANGALORE MARCH 19. While peace has returned to J.J. Nagar, which witnessed clashes between Hindus and Muslims on Friday and Saturday, one person was stabbed in nearby Byatarayanapura on Monday night.

Police said four persons stabbed a 40-year-old man while he was returning to his house at Byatarayanapura at around 11.15 p.m. Police, however, said the stabbing incident was not related to the clashes at J.J. Nagar. The Byatarayanapura police have registered a case.

Man killed in mishap

Padmarajan (55), a resident of R.R. Layout in Vijayanagar, was seriously injured when a lorry hit his scooter near Nagavara Ring Road junction on Monday night.

Police said Padmarajan died in a private hospital. The Hennur police have arrested the lorry driver, seized the vehicle, and registered a case.

Youths arrested

The Jnanabharathi police have arrested Balaji of Vijayanagar and Santosh of Kamakshipalya, both 20 years of age, on charges of theft, and reportedly recovered gold ornaments worth Rs. 15,000 from them. They were allegedly involved in a case of theft reported from the Jnanabharathi police station limits last year.
