Grievances day meeting at Alandur
By Our Staff Reporter

CHENNAI, JAN. 4. Over 300 petitions pertaining to civic and revenue issues were received by authorities at a grievances day meeting at Alandur.

Resident welfare associations from many of the suburban local bodies including Tambaram, Pallavaram and Perungalathur submitted petitions, most of which were related to roads, streetlights and water supply.

The Social Welfare Minister, B. Valarmathi, and the Kancheepuram Collector, K. Rajaraman, participated in the meeting.

A large group of women belonging to Tiruneermalai, sought Palar water connection as the ground water in most parts of the town was polluted.

Ms. Valarmathi asked the officials to attend to the problems before the stipulated 90-day period.
