Advocates plan protest
By Our Special Correspondent

BANGALORE, DEC. 31. The Bangalore Advocates' Association has decided to take out a procession in the City on Thursday to protest against one-way traffic on Nrupatunga Road and Post Office Road.

Mr. K.N.Subba Reddy, MLA and President of the Association, told presspersonbs that the restriction should be withdrawn immediately to obviate inconvenience to the advocates and litigant public.

Mr. Reddy said the association had submitted a number of representations to the police and held protest meetings in support of its demand in the last few days. The Commissioner of Police, Mr. H.T.Sangliana, after examining the plea, had announced that the order would be withdrawn as a ``Deepavali gift'', but did not do so.

The association would present a memorandum to the Chief Minister seeking suitable direction to the police, Mr. Reddy said.

Mr. Reddy demanded shifting of Karnataka Administrative Tribunal and labour courts nearer to the cluster of courts as they were far-flung now and caused inconvenience to lawyers and litigants. Some of the courts could be located in the premises of the Central Jail which had been shifted, he added.
