Deadlock over censure motion continues
New Delhi, Nov. 29. The stalemate over the censure motion moved by the Congress on the reinduction of the Defence Minister, Mr. George Fernandes, continues. The Lok Sabha Speaker, Mr. G.M.C. Balayogi's efforts today to find a way out failed with both the Government and the Congress sticking to their stated positions. Another meeting between the two sides is scheduled for Monday.

ICC president to meet Dalmiya
London, Nov. 29. In a last-ditch effort to break the deadlock, the International Cricket Council (ICC) president, Mr. Malcolm Gray, and the chief executive, Mr. Michael Speed, today offered to fly to Kuala Lumpur for a meeting with the Indian cricket board chief, Mr. Jagmohan Dalmiya.

Afghan groups come closer
Koenigswinter (Germany), Nov. 29. In a dramatic turnaround, the Afghan groups meeting here are reported to have narrowed down their differences and are expected to name the members of a supreme council for ruling the country. The Northern Alliance and the Rome group have reached an agreement on the number of seats in the interim administration.

`Alliance pushing into Kandahar'
Kabul, Nov. 29. Anti-Taliban forces were pushing on Thursday into the militia's last stronghold of Kandahar, the Northern Alliance Deputy Defence Minister, Mr. Bismillah Khan, said. The claim, however, could not be independently verified.

7 BSF personnel killed
Jammu, Nov. 29. In a fierce gun-battle after the Border Security Forces cordoned off a house near Sopore, seven BSF personnel, including an assistant commandant and an inspector and three Lashkar-e-Taiba militants were killed.

Laloo gets back CRPF security
Patna, Nov. 29. The Centre today restored to the former Chief Minister and RJD president, Mr. Laloo Prasad Yadav, CRPF protection which had been withdrawn on Wednesday from the camp jail at Ranchi, where he is lodged as an undertrial in a fodder scam case.

Maoists bomb Coca-Cola plant
Kathmandu, Nov. 29. Maoist rebels in Nepal bombed a Coca-Cola factory in Balaju, on the outskirts of Kathmandu today, sources said. There have been no reports of any casualties or damage to the plant so far.

Naxals blast milk plant
Hyderabad, Nov. 29. A milk processing unit owned by the family members of the Chief Minister, Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu, located near Pileru in Chittoor district was blown up by naxalites of the People's War Group (PWG) on Thursday night. Reports indicated that the raid party was lead by a woman naxalite.
