12 railwaymen kidnapped

AGARTALA, NOV. 17. Twelve staff members of the North-Eastern
Frontier Railway (NF) have been kidnapped from Paizarbari area of
Dhalai district. This has triggered massive repercussions in the
State. This is the second abduction of NF Railway staff. Earlier
twenty of them were kidnapped in two different attacks from the
same Dhalai district.
Senior police officials of the district and the DIG Agartala
rushed to the spot and launched massive search operations to
rescue the kidnapped railway staff and arrest the culprits.
It is learnt that a group of heavily armed NLFT ultras raided
Paizarbari area, about four and a half km away from Ambassa
police station area, at around 8-30 a.m. today. The staff and
other labourers were engaged in the construction work at a site
of the railway.
The armed ultras gathered all the twelve people at gun point and
forcibly took them away.
