'Give more respect to nursing assts.'

CHENNAI, NOV. 13. There is a need to treat the role of nursing
assistants with more respect and dignity, Mr. N. P. Gupta,
Special Commissioner, MBC and Denotified Communities, said. He
was addressing the valedictory of the training programme for
nursing assistants here on Monday.
The one-year programme, sponsored by the Government BC/MBC
department, was conducted at the Durgabai Deshmukh General
Hospital (DDGH) in association with the Voluntary Health Services
(VHS) and the CSI Kalyani General Hospital.
Ms. Shanta Devi, DDGH secretary, Dr. Saroja Srinivasan, Medical
Superintendent, VHS, and Dr. Rajkumari Sundar, Medical Director,
CSI Kalyani General Hospital, were present.
Cultural programmes by students marked the occasion.
