Stress on employer, employee ties

CHENNAI, NOV. 13. While drawing attention to the downturn at the global and national levels, the president of The Hindu Office and National Press Employees' Union, Mr. S. Ramamurthy, today expressed confidence that The Hindu would sail through the difficult times for the print media.

Speaking at the 45th annual celebrations of the union, he made a fervent appeal to all sections of the employees of the newspaper to extend a helping hand to the management.

Mr.N. P. Ramajayam, general secretary of the union, while thanking the mangement for its ``commitment to honouring the recent Manisana Wage Board'' besides implementing several welfare measures for the employees and their families.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. N. Murali, Joint Managing Director of The Hindu, said the cordial atmosphere in which the annual celebrations of the union took place amply demonstrated the bonding in employer-employee relationship. He sought the cooperation and support of the employees.

Mr. S. Krishnaswamy, vice-president of the union, welcomed the gathering.
