Daab doobali
VINITHA SIDDARTH
This game is known by different names in different states and can
be played by about 10 - 15 players.
What you need
A large open space and a stick.
How do you play
The catcher marks a circle called the thali and puts the stick in
it. The other players have to get the stick without being caught.
Once the stick has been taken it must be passed to all the
players before being put back in the thali. This must be done
without the catcher touching the others. If the catcher touches a
player who has the stick, that player is out and becomes the
catcher. The stick cannot return to the thali without being
passed to all the players.
A lively and spirited game, it is a lot of fun. It can be varied
when there are more children by having more than one catcher or
more than one stick.
