Voluntary organisations form federation
By Our Staff Reporter
CHENNAI, NOV. 2. Over 20 leading voluntary organisations of the
city announced the formation of a federation that ``would unite
them in the hour of crisis and be of mutual help''.
At a meeting convened by Exnora International, representatives of
leading voluntary organisations including Udavaum Karangal, The
Banyan, Sivananda Saraswathi Sevashram, Vidya Sagar and SCARF
stressed the need for networking service-minded organisations.
All the representatives also expressed solidarity with the Exnora
International, which was being vilified in some quarters and its
office-bearers a target of mud-slinging in recent times. ``One
should not get discouraged by any motivated reports,'' most of
the social workers said.
