Armed forces plan major exercise in the Andamans
By Our Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI, OCT. 31. The armed forces are going ahead with a major
exercise in the Andaman & Nicobar islands from November 2.
The idea is to keep them in a state of preparedness to deal with
any eventuality. ``The exercise is basically meant to galvanise
them in the art of working together in operations.''
This eight-day joint amphibious exercise (amphex) by the Army,
Navy and the Air Force will be conducted in the operational area
of the country's first tri-services integrated command.
