A right decision
Sir, - The Prime Minister, Mr. A.B. Vajpayee, by ruling out the
possibility of talks with the Pakistan President, Gen. Pervez
Musharraf, on the sidelines of the United Nations General
Assembly in New York has taken the right decision.
It is a known fact that Gen. Musharraf will harp on his pet
`freedom struggle' theory and Mr. Vajpayee on cross- border
terrorism. But what the Kashmiris want is a peaceful atmosphere
and good education for the youth, among other things, without the
shadow of terror.
P.U. Krishnan,
Ooty
