Farooq welcomes Ordinance
By Our Correspondent
JAMMU, OCT. 29. The Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Dr. Farooq
Abdullah, welcomed the promulgation of the Prevention of
Terrorism Ordinance and said it would go a long way in curbing
terrorism in the State.
Speaking to reporters after the opening ceremony of the 50th All-
India police hockey championships, Dr. Abdullah said the human
rights activists who had reservations on the new Ordinance must
realise that the country is under the grip of terrorism. ``We
have to take some stern steps to curb it and POTO is one such
measure in that direction,'' he said.
