By Our Correspondent

JAMMU, OCT. 29. The Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Dr. Farooq Abdullah, welcomed the promulgation of the Prevention of Terrorism Ordinance and said it would go a long way in curbing terrorism in the State.

Speaking to reporters after the opening ceremony of the 50th All- India police hockey championships, Dr. Abdullah said the human rights activists who had reservations on the new Ordinance must realise that the country is under the grip of terrorism. ``We have to take some stern steps to curb it and POTO is one such measure in that direction,'' he said.
