Poor depositors
Sir, - The annual ritual of announcing the credit policy is over.
The RBI has reduced the interest rate and as usual the CII, the
ASSOCHAM and FICCI have welcomed the announcement. Depositors are
the ultimate sufferers since they have no association to voice
their grievances.
T.B. Subramanian,
Coimbatore

Sir, - The RBI and the Finance Ministrymust look beyond the stock
market and corporate houses, before any further cut in interest
rates is announced. There are millions of people in this country
who survive on the interest from various small deposit schemes.
R. Chandran,
Thrissur
