Discord in LCP over merger
LUCKNOW, OCT. 24. Dissensions surfaced in the Loktantrik Congress
Party today with its general secretary, Mr. Siraj Mehdi, claiming
the majority of partymen were opposed to the party's merger with
the Samajwadi Party.
Mr. Mehdi, a close confidant of the former State president and
Energy Minister, Mr. Naresh Agarwal, told reporters that the
decision was Mr. Agarwal's ``personal'' and that many were
``opposed'' to it.
