Not in national interest
Sir, - Though the recent attack on Pakistani posts was fully
justified, such attacks would be detrimental to the national
interest. They would pressure the Pakistan President, Gen. Pervez
Musharraf, into sending more ``jehadis'' into Kashmir and he
would use any escalation in violence to internationalise the
Kashmir issue. Any punitive action should be carried out
covertly.
M. Suren,
