MANW protest meeting today

CHENNAI, OCT. 12. The Movement Against Nuclear Weapons (MANW), Chennai, is organising a meeting tomorrow as part of a worldwide protest against the National Missile Defence (NMD) plan of the Bush administration and the arrest of the Indian peace activist, Mr. Samir Nazareth, and his Greenpeace colleagues for participating in a peaceful protest in the US.

The meeting, to be held at the BEFI Hall, Vallala Teynampet, will highlight the emerging danger of war in the world and the Indian subcontinent.

Mr. N. Ram, Editor, Frontline, Mr. N. T. Vanamamalai, peace activist, and Dr. R. Shankar (Indian Scientists Against Nuclear Weapons) will address the meeting. There will also be a slide show and a display of photographs and paintings.
