NCM to vet references
The NCERT has agreed to get its textbook references to minority
faiths vetted by the National Commission for Minorities (NCM)
before their publication, the NCM vice-chairman, Mr. Tirlochan
Singh, told UNI today.
The NCM today held a meeting with an NCERT team led by its
director, Prof. J.S. Rajput, in the wake of complaints from Sikh
leaders that a history book for class XI carried matter that was
allegedly insulting to the ninth Sikh Guru Teg Bahadur, he said.
