Shanmugham indisposed

PONDICHERRY, OCT. 3. Pondicherry's Chief Minister, Mr. P. Shanmugham, was indisposed and cancelled his engagements for the day including a function got up to declare open a recreation centre at Pudukuppampet in Villianoor.

In his absence, the Social Welfare Minister, Mr. A. Kasilingam, inaugurated the centre.

However, Mr. Shanmugham met the Lt. Governor, along with the Tourism Minister Mr. A. V. Subramanian, to discuss matters relating to the Education Department.

After the meeting, the Chief Minister drove to his house and held discussions with the Minister and officials.

There was no political significance in the meeting, sources said.
