Shanmugham condoles Scindia's death

PONDICHERRY, OCT. 1. The death of the former Union Minister, Mr.
Madhavrao Scindia, has caused an irreparable loss to the
Congress, the Chief Minister, Mr. P. Shanmugham, has said.
``He was an astute politician, talented statesman and a good
guide who stood through thick and thin with the party
leadership,'' he recalled.
A condolence meeting was held in the party office here in which
the Education Minister, Mr. A.V. Subramanian, the general
secretary of the PCC, Mr. Vinayakamoorthy, and the former
Education Minister, Mr. A. Gandhiraj, paid their homage to the
late leader.
PMC expresses grief
Mr. K. Laksminarayanan, MLA and president of Puduchery Makkal
Congress, expressed his grief over the tragic end of Madhavrao
Scindia.
A dedicated party man Scindia had discharged his duties as a
disciplined volunteer extending full allegiance to the party
leadership. The sudden demise was a big loss to the nation, the
Congress and the AICC president, he said.
Mr. Lakshminarayanan also expressed condoled the death of the
journalists who met with the tragic disaster.
The PMC leader conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families
of the journalists.
`Dedicated leader'
The president of Pondicherry unit of the Janata Dal (Secular),
Mr. E. Ganesan, expressed his sorrow over the tragic death of
Madhavrao Scindia on Sunday.
He referred to the dedicated services of Scindia for the cause of
the people.

The Cuddalore Press Club has condoled the death of journalists
who were killed in the plane crash in Manipuri district of Uttar
Pradesh.
The Club has expressed its condolences to the bereaved family
members of Ms. Anju Sharma (Hindustan Times), Mr. Sanjeev Sinha
(Indian Express), Mr. Ranjan Jha and Mr. Gopal Bisht (Aaj Tak).
