Rein in Lashkar, Jaish too, India tells Pak.
By Our Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI, OCT.1. India today said that it expected Pakistan to
curb recognised terrorist groups including the Jaish-e-Mohammad
(JeM) and the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). Both these outfits belonged
to the elaborate network of terrorist organisations which are
freely operating from Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir
(PoK).
Analysts pointed out that the timing of the statement, issued by
the Ministry of External Affairs, was significant in the light of
the on-going visit to the United States by the External Affairs
Minister, Mr. Jaswant Singh. Highly placed Government sources
said that India expected the U.S. to extend its earlier ban on
the Harkat-ul-Mujahideen to the LeT and the JeM.
