PM capitulated, says Swamy
By Our Special Correspondent
CHENNAI, SEPT. 29. The Janata Party president, Dr. Subramanian
Swamy, today asked the Prime Minister, Mr. A.B. Vajpayee, to
prove his credentials in fighting terrorism by sending commandos
to Jaffna to hunt down the LTTE chief Prabhakaran.
In a statement, Dr. Swamy said this must be done to show that the
Prime Minister was serious about fighting terrorism.
Criticising Mr. Vajpayee for his comments on the ``lack of
action'' on the part of the U.S. in the past regarding terrorism
in Kashmir, he said, ``It is Mr. Vajpayee who is on test today
and who has to establish his bonafides to fight terrorism.''
Mr. Vajpayee's bonafides had been demolished by his capitulation
at Kandahar after the hijack of Indian Airlines plane and by his
inaction in hunting the LTTE terrorists who were responsible for
the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi, he said.
